I have had the rare experience of keeping my job, and nearly all of my coworkers, but changing employers!PSERN has spun off from the King County Government into its own local government. I am privileged to serve in the role of project manager with PSERN as part of the engineering team. My primary focus remains distributed antenna system (DAS) coordination.My duties include:• Maintaining a common set of requirements and methods of documentation to secure authorization to utilize PSERN licensed radio spectrum.• Updating policies related to administration of DAS by PSERN. • Communicating those requirements through presentations and policy documentation. • Coordinating DAS approval with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), building owners, PSERN technicians, and DAS vendors. • Maintaining a tracking database of all buildings with DAS/BDA systems operating on PSERN licensed frequencies.• Developing and implementing DAS training for PSERN technicians, AHJ representatives, and building owners.• Administration of PSERN's DAS Jira Service Management portal.• Other PSERN project management as needed.

I serve as liaison with regional officials executing the transition of in-building coverage systems as the PSERN project is transitioned to a live fully operating system. In this position I have a unique opportunity to work with a diverse set of staff and key stakeholders that vary from frontline technical staff to elected officials in agencies throughout the state. PSERN will replace the current King County Emergency Radio Communication System; this multi-year/multi-phase project has a budget of approximately $290M and is partnering with other regional entities. My duties include:• Developing a common set of requirements and methods of documentation for building owners to follow in order to secure authorization to utilize PSERN licensed radio spectrum.• Recommending policies related to administration of Distributed Antenna Systems/Bi-directional Amplifiers (DAS/BDA) systems to be incorporated by the PSERN Project. • Collaborating with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and building owners to ensure that the PSERN technical requirements, Project initiatives, Project schedule, and PSERN transition plan are all understood and communicated.• Developing and maintaining a tracking database of all buildings with DAS/BDA systems operating on PSERN licensed frequencies.• Working with the Project as technical supervisor to develop and implement DAS training for PSERN technicians and AHJ representatives as well as potentially for building owners.• Developing all materials related to DAS transition including regional emails and presentations in coordination with Project leadership.• Developing DAS/BDA acceptance testing criteria and work with AHJ s, building owners, project staff, radio technicians and vendors to commission systems transitioning to PSERN.• Developing a building owner DAS agreement allowing them to reuse the PSERN Frequencies in the DAS/BDA systems.

In my role as Deployment Project Manager I am an advocate and guide for both our field engineering staff as well as the owners of our installed systems.As manager of our field engineering team I:• Liaison between project management, engineering, sales, and our customers• Schedule mobilizations per internal and external customer demand• Develop our field engineering technical abilities through writing curriculum and scheduling training for my staff • Guide our field engineers through professional advancement by challenging them to new goals• Track and report mobilization metrics to upper management• Serve as a technical resource during mobilizationsAs manager of deployed systems I:• Am the primary point of contact for post-installation support• Develop, price, and sell our post-install services• Schedule and coordinate annual recertifications of fire code required Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS)• Discuss, plan, and quote upgrade paths for mature DASMany DAS integrators are only invested in the project until completion of construction and commissioning but with my role and the opportunity at DAS Simplified we can provide service and support to both DAS engineered and deployed by us as well as orphaned systems.

Although my title is Project Manager, we joke that I'm the "special" PM. My responsibilities are to: • Schedule production in conjunction with the material planner, production staff, and project managers. • Produce as a team ready-to-ship packages on schedule, both for customers and distribution.• Lead the production team in their daily activities as well as their development with changing products and the company. Give and receive regular feedback and scheduled reviews.• Protect all parties within the production space from unsafe working conditions, discrimination, or bullying.• Account for production expenses through tracking of team productivity and inventory management.• Continuously redesign the production process for improvements, changes in materials, and increases in scale.• Contribute to and invest in company-wide initiatives and special committees.

My specific responsibilities include: • Stage and test DAS systems in house prior to deployment. • Travel nationwide to commission completed installations. • Present the face of DAS Simplified to customers, electrical contractors, radio technicians, and fire marshals. • Ensure compliance to scope of work and signal levels. • Document initialization procedures, as built drawings, and photographs.

Provided customer support by telephone and onsite to 10+ state area. Sustained PC, Apple, and Android hardware and software as well as network communication. Configured and installed new PCs and network equipment. Consulted with customers to define necessary coverage of wireless networks and IP cameras. Deployed DDNS for remote connectivity. • Learned principles of dairy farming in order to understand and provide for customers’ needs.• Introduced weatherized digital signage for live data streaming in milking parlors.• Proposed program to standardize configuration and deployment of new PCs to customers. Automated the process, saving 100 labor hours per year.

Troubleshot, repaired, and programmed two-way radios. Defined and coordinated technical specifications with customers and salespeople. Managed $1M rental inventory warehouse. Shipped and received rental radios and accessories.• Designed and formalized battery maintenance plan.• Worked as part of a team prototyping a new rental processing plan. Contracted urgent response to hardware service calls of the mesh simulcast public safety radio, construction and maintenance of remote site shelters, and two-way coverage for large private business campuses. Worked with safety as the priority while rigging rope, operating heavy equipment, or managing exposure to RF radiation.• Upgraded 20+ location Washington State Patrol microwave survivability ring relay.• Replaced destroyed broadcast tower with turnkey site from excavation and cement work to finalized communications testing.• In 3 month self managed project, measured radio signal strength in all Redmond campus Microsoft buildings for guaranteed 95% coverage levels and remediation.• Constructed two towers on Seattle Fire Station 10. Installed all cabling and radio comm. stations for Seattle Auxiliary Communications Service.
