Originally known as Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), Macquarie Asset Management is a market leader for private funds in the Infrastructure, Real Estate, Real Assets and Fixed Income sectors. My internship provided me a deep dive into how private equity can enable clients to both diversify their portfolios and reap the rewards of inflation resistant returns from high quality assets across the world.As part of the 2 selected interns across Singapore and Hong Kong's 400 applicants for the prestigious off-cycle program, I had to familiarize myself with the company's 15+ funds, assist in daily activities and research for future potential expansions in Asia.• Spearheaded research for potential targets in Asia, with a key focus on Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore.• Collaborated with team members from multiple geographies, to estimate trends in asset classes and investor preference. • Conducted in-depth analysis on competitor funds and investor appetite within the region.• Gathered and compiled data from both public and private resources including: CapitalIQ and Broadridge.• Contributed to meetings with a wide range of clients including sovereign wealth funds and international private banks and university endowment funds.• Prepared presentation materials and pitch decks used for both internal and external meetings.• Participated in Macquaire's annual beach cleanup.

Aiding the daily operations of the Energy team at ING, I am exposed to FPSO, Offshore Oil and Gas as well as Renewables, Utilities and Power projects across multiple geographies.Worked on live financial advisory deals, aiding in financial modeling and sensitivity tests for project financing. This included assisting one of ING's clients in the bidding process for Energy Market Authority's Request for Proposal (RFP1) to import 1.2GW of electricity into Singapore.Collaborated with team members from the Global Markets Research and FM teams in order to publish the Energy Sector Newsletter Issue 17. This sector wide April newsletter reviewed the shortages in middle distillates and its impact on refinery margins, analyzed the Japan offshore wind auction results and examined the current high swap rate environment.Aided in daily activities of the Energy Sector coverage team including:Running loan pricing sensitivities using in-house systemsPerforming in-depth company and market analysisUpdating client financial statements in the in-house systemsLiaising with clients to complete facility drawdown processes
