Mechanical Engineer (Temp)Technipfmc | Schilling Robotics Feb 2019 - Jul 2019My main responsibilities are to design, test, and document mechanical components for use on and supporting a next-generation submersible ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). More specifically, that means that I create or modify the relevant CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, and when hand-calculations are not sufficient I conduct all required FEA analyses using SolidWorks Simulation. After the design and calculations are double checked, I produce the required parts myself, work with internal fabrication staff, and/or get parts produced by outside vendors. Once those are completed and I have created a safe validation testing procedure, I conduct the test myself or observe and direct the appropriate personnel as they carry it out. Based the information gathered during the fabrication and testing processes, I will then either revise the design and repeat the process described above, or I will work with the Drafting team to finalize the documentation and close out the project.
