Deciding to go into hospitality and pursuing a career in this field has been a journey for me. It started with a passion for not only the production of food, but also the putting-it-on-a-plate-in-front- of-a-person-you-care-about part. I stare wide-eyed and get thrilled when I’ve succeeded and suffer silently when I fail. However, I’ve taken these “failures” and learned from them or decided that the taste tester has no taste and stubbornly made no changes. Presently, I’ve learned to enjoy assignments with the goal of solving a restaurant or hotel’s problems, making them better. I can’t begin to express how much satisfaction I get from being inspired to help better an already successful establishment. In a nutshell, I’m an honest worker, a responsible one. I enjoy the creative process and problem solving. I look forward to working with leaders in the industry to better the field.
