Following an investment from Jefferson Innovation in 2016, I started QSPACES to address discrimination and health disparities in the LGBTQ+ community. The QSPACES app is a LGBTQ+ community-driven rating and review platform for doctors and health providers (think Yelp).QSPACES has been featured in NewNowNext, Technical.ly Philly, Philadelphia Magazine, Generocity, and more. We partnered with Tegan and Sara Foundation and Queer Health Access. Through QSPACES, I attended Blackstone Launchpad x TechStars bootcamp and was a 2018 Roddenberry Fellowship Finalist.

co-founded Activate14, an outreach initiative of AIA North Carolina and the Center for Architecture and Design (CfAD) to strengthen the civic role of architecture and design in our community. The initiative went state-wide in fall 2015 as ActivateNC and I was awarded the AIA NC Presidential Award for my service. Raleigh's leading architecture critic said we were the "vanguard of design activism". Achievements: • hosted 3 design competitions that addressed creative placemaking, homelessness, and underutilized space • organized more than 10 events that discussed topics including transitional housing, sustainable foodways, alternative transportation, and more • brought more than 2,000 unique visitors to CfAD in one summer • raised tens of thousands of dollars, and • activated an underutilized building in downtown Raleigh

As a small bootstrapping business, we had to do anything and everything to make sure we fulfilled orders and shipped on time to big names in the industry, like Barney's. I also learned to sew and design dry goods. By our 2nd year, we were featured in T Magazine, Esquire, Nylon, Playboy, Garden & Gun, NYT Travel, Sports Illustrated, Elle, Southern Living, and more.• Directed production and restructured the supply chain and production processes to achieve a 25% reduction in production time per unit while sales tripled over an 18 month period. • Created specific production systems and databases to establish an informed decision making process, maintain high quality standards and increase employee responsibility, resulting in <2% flaws per run. • Managed 10+ diverse employees, resolved conflicts, trained employees and authored manuals. • Ran Quickbooks Premiere to include tracking inventory, purchasing, sales and reporting. • Built and managed relationships with a broad spectrum of people including businesses, customers and various media channels to receive price breaks, sell more units, sponsor and host events and garner media attention.
