Health Insurance BC, BC Government, PharmaNet Technical Review. PharmaNet is the province-wide network that links all B.C. pharmacies to a central set of data systems. Every prescription dispensed in B.C. is entered into PharmaNet. PharmaNet was built in 1995 and contains all community pharmacy dispenses and adjudicates drug claims. To support the need to procure a new services contract in 2020, Health Insurance BC requested a technical review of PharmaNet. In my role as lead technical analyst, responsibilities included a technical assessment of PharmaNet and description of current technical issues, gaining an understanding of business pressures, and assessing how well PharmaNet is positioned to meet strategic opportunities. The approach included interviews, literature reviews and vendor discussions.

Led team to implement an on-time, successful solution in support of the implementation of the BC Societies Act which went live November 30 2016. Societies must register in British Columbia and fulfill various requirements.The application was developed through an Agile methodology as a web client calling REST web services with Java, Spring, Spring Webflow, JQuery, Bootstrap and Oracle database, Responsibilities included leading development team, resolving requirements and design questions, planning and hands-on delivery. Responsibilities also included configuration management (SVN), release management, backlog planning, issue tracking, liaising with the business and the QA lead.ServiceNow was the selected tool for managing issues and work.

The natural resources Ministries in British Columbia are working on a sector-wide project - the Natural Resources Permitting Project. My responsibility included gathering requirements and defining the vision for a service that allows proponents to receive guidance on activities impacting natural resources they would like to conduct in the province. The service allows proponents to select activities they are interested in and to select areas of interest and then receive guidance on the activities and the areas of interest.

College System and Process Renewal Project (CaSPeR)The intent of the project was to integrate new systems is to enhance business processes through improved technology, which will better support the College’s mandate of public protection through effective regulation• In 2011, the Board made operational efficiency a top priority and committed the necessary resources to transition the College to an electronically enabled organization within five years. The ultimate objective of this renewal is to ensure that the College has the most productive systems, processes and people to deliver on its mandate of public protection in accordance with its values: transparent, objective, impartial, and fair.• My contribution included: hands-on delivery of modules, developing a strategic approach for IM/IT investment and management to meet the stated goals, developing a request for proposal and assisting with selection, working with selected vendor on product enhancement requests• Configuring, customizing and implementing a successful solution (Microsoft SQL Server, hosted applications, web forms, ASI Corporation's IMIS member-management product, integration with existing infrastructure, release management) (https://www.advsol.com/asi/IMIS20/resources/clients/Resources/clients/College_Physicians_Surgeons_British_Columbia.aspx)The College's 2014/15 annual report (page 19) states:"The implementation of a single web-based solution will enable full integration and information sharing between the College’s departments and functions, and other organizations such as health authorities and the Ministry of Health. Through enhanced automation of current paper-based business processes—e.g. registering new physicians, processing requests for certificates of professional conduct, and managing complaint files—the College expects to realize efficiencies, enhanced security of records, and improved opportunities to monitor, analyze and report on performance measures."
