Activities and acquired skills relevant to the IT Industry and Software Development:▪ Critical Thinking and Complex Problem Solving — Supramolecular Chemistry (the field in which I activated as a Research Assistant) is more akin to programming than one might think. Critical thinking was employed in solving problems every day and breaking them into smaller, more manageable parts, just like in programming.▪ Interacting with Computers — Using computers and computer systems to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information. For example, I once wrote a small program that calculated and displayed all the possible atomic and molecular combinations that would result from my reaction in order to compare this information with the actual molecular peaks registered by the MS spectrum and thus have a better idea of what products resulted from the reaction.▪ Teaching and mentoring: I have supervised the formation of more than twenty students and directly mentored four French students for their internship stages as well as five bachelor students and three master students for their final year dissertation.

Activities and acquired skills relevant to the IT Industry and Software Development:▪ Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Each week we had group meetings in which every group member had to make an oral presentation describing the activity from the past week (along with the encountered problems) and discuss with the other team members the potential actions and solutions to the encountered problems. ▪ Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge — An almost daily activity was keeping up-to-date with the field’s state of the art by reading the latest scientific discoveries in the mainstream literature. Furthermore, we had periodical trainings on operating the latest research equipment (NMR and MS spectrometers, UV-VIS, etc.) as well as exchanging research experience with groups from other countries (France was our main exchange country).▪ Thinking Creatively - Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
