Designed and delivered key enhancements to JavaScript SPA banking application that improved authentication, application lifecycle, session management, and security for both mobile and desktop clients. Responsible for server side JavaScript components using IBM Worklight to integrate and expose core Java services over a REST API. Championed, designed, and delivered a framework to enhance request management that directly improved code quality, maintainability, and delivery times. I started out in enterprise Java development before becoming more involved in single page web applications, where I found my passion for JavaScript. Joining my enterprise experience with JavaScript quickly found me delivering full-stack JavaScript solutions. During my time I worked both on and off site for large projects with Westpac NZ and the Ministry of Health NZ. I also contributed to a number of smaller projects including the Solnet public website, Asteron life insurance, and BNZ finance. I provided mentoring and training for undergraduate interns getting started with single page web applications and AngularJs and presented to the wider company on growing JavaScript knowledge and Node.js tooling for modern web application development.

Developed web services to extend functionality of a large cancer registry web application. Key areas include SOAP and REST web services using Java EE and the Spring framework, front end development with jQuery, infrastructure setup and configuration, and maintenance of a large system. Designed and created a custom forms framework to handle the submission of structured information with many rules and validation interdependencies. Support of the existing cancer registry system was a key responsibility including maintaining the testing environments, planning and coordinating production releases onsite, and acting as level three technical support for any production issues of NZCR.Front end developer in a small agile team working on a pilot program for collection, analysis, and storage of cancer classifications. Developed a single page AngularJs application with a focus on UX and simplicity. Owned total responsibility of the technical design and successful delivery of front end components. Contributed to onsite support and workshops for end users throughout the development and pilot programme.
