Worked directly with the Executive Director, Operations Director, FSCSP team, and California State Parks staff to implement FSCSP programs and projects focused on education, conservation, equity and inclusion, historic and cultural preservation, and facilities improvements at multiple state parks throughout the district.

Federated States Of Micronesia

Developed a Micronesia communications strategy, which included leveraging media opportunities and partnerships to further support and highlight progress of regional partners to general public, including current and potential partners and funders. This comprised collaborating with local partners, advertising agencies and press, managing relations and contracts with suppliers and vendors, coordinating and implementing existing complementary projects, drafting press releases and feature articles, and organizing events. Raised program profile internally by interfacing with various staff on producing regular campaign updates and responding to Communications and Development departments’ requests for stories, which included co-writing blurbs for Board reports, donor outreach or online blogs to highlight campaigns.Organized several opportunities for peer-to-peer exchange and cohort learning to facilitate sharing of lessons and networking, as well as managed the outcomes and monitoring. Examples included knowledge cafes, training and development field trips, and cohort learning retreats. Delivered University-level instruction in Communication courses such as but not limited to social marketing theory and practice, new communications technology, developing campaign materials. Rare's two-year social marketing program is accredited by the University of Texas El Paso as part of their MA Communications program.

Philippines

Provided technical expertise and management oversight to four partners from around the Philippines in the design, implementation, and monitoring of their respective two-year intensive social marketing and communication campaigns at their respective sites. Campaigns focused on increasing active community support and participation for marine protected areas, including advocating for strengthened policy frameworks. Piloted formal partnership with a leading marketing communications company to increase national media coverage of local partners through press conferences, media features, and awareness events.Delivered University-level instruction in Communication courses such as but not limited to social marketing theory and practice, new communications technology, developing campaign materials. Philippines

Prepared several modules on environment conservation, and trained several Peace Corps volunteers on the biophysical and social/community aspects of coastal resource management – including education and communication program conceptualization. Modules on community education and awareness focused on development communication, adult learning, and the different networking approaches for various partners from government agencies to fellow community residents.Networked with municipal leaders and key influencers to organize community events and activities that enabled Peace Corps volunteers to enhance cross-cultural learning, demonstrate their knowledge, and hone their skills.
