Born in Romania, and living in Portugal since the age of ten, I have always used this multicultural facet of my life as guidance, whenever I thought of my goals for the future. Having been immersed in two extremely different realities, but always having the ability to look from the outside inward, since an early age, I developed a passion and an immense sense of curiosity regarding the way of life of migrants. This eventually took shape as a build-up of interest in Politics, and to be more precise, the politics of democratic representation and of migration public policies. That is how I understood that I wanted to make a living by being immersed in the decision making process.Years later, after deciding to study Philosophy in order to understand the basis of today’s political though, I graduated from the University of Lisbon. Presently I am attending the ISCTE Masters in Political Science, which I think was the natural progression, given my goals. My hope is to finish the course by 2024, with a thesis on the evolution of Public Policies regarding migrants in the EU, the way these were impacted by the growth of the process of globalization, and also the effects these have on what we call ‘Democratic Representation’. Besides being a student, I’m also currently employed as an Administrative Assistant by the Regional Health Administration Lisbon and Tagus Valley, which allows me not only to pay my tuition fees on my own, but also get a better grip on the reality of the employment market.I speak flutently three languages – Portuguese, English and Romanian – and plan to enroll in a Spanish course in the near future, in order to strenghen my Curriculum Vitae but also to broaden my possibilites at an european level.
