Cristiana Oprea is a rally driver, automotive journalist and the founder of “Femei în Motorsport”, a platform dedicated to all women involved in Romanian motorsport. She graduated both Urban Planning and Architecture, yet in 2015 she followed her passion for motorsport, trusting she can make the world a better place behind the wheel of race cars.Without any previous motorsport background, she started rallying at 23 years old in Dacia Cup, the grassroots series in the Romanian National Rally Championship. She quickly became a trailblazer for women in motorsport:🔸Together with codriver Diana Hațegan they became, in 2018, the first Romanian ladies crew to compete in a foreign rally in the last 50 years (at Rally Sliven in Bulgaria). 🔸In 2019 Cristiana became the first Romanian woman driver to ever compete in the FIA ERC - European Rally Championship – at Rally di Roma Capitale, where she finished on the ERC Ladies podium.🔸In April 2022 she became the first Romanian woman driver to ever compete in WRC – World Rally Championship, after a challenging evolution at Croatia Rally.Beyond trophies, Cristiana believes sport is a perfect catalyst for change. Through her career, she aims to dismantle gender stereotypes while inspiring other people to be brave and follow their own dreams.“I continue to expand my limits with enthusiasm and overcome any challenges with resilience.”🏁Cristiana currently competes alongside codriver Alexia Parteni in a hybrid rally season, in two international championships: the European Rally Championship FIA ERC and the all-electric Opel Cup, an innovative rally series based on the Corsa-e Rallye.With a background in architecture & urban planning, I developed a keen interest for visual communication. I worked on integrated brand identity projects, combining graphic design, event planning, content creation, online platform management and storytelling. While managing my own image as a rally driver, I also gained vast insights on sponsorship pitch & management, PR and media relations.
