Despite emigrating from a poverty stricken community in Mexicali in his youth to an academically and financially depressed community in Phoenix he has always maintained high aspirations. His parents having recognized his abilities have always believed that he would do great things. Having taken this to heart he has excelled academically, at least since he became fluent enough in English to understand teachers’ instructions.Most notably among his successes was the victory over MIT in an underwater robot competition while he was still in high school. Unlike most Hollywood endings this story did not have a pleasant ending. Due to lack of economic funds he decided to enter a public university after completing high school. Even that became a problem when legislation in Arizona revoked his scholarship and increased the financial burden to attend. These factors and more have made it difficult to secure funds to continue his education and he has struggled to remain in school since.He now aims to become an Electrical Engineer some day while starting his own company focusing on consumer electronics. Recently he has been touring the country promoting the documentary Underwater Dreams. He hopes that his story can reach others so they too can continue to fight to find success and make their own American Dreams a reality.There is currently a Crowdismo in progress to aid him in completing an Electrical Engineering Degree.
