Research Associate
CurrentHired as member of the R&D department to collect, analyze, and interpret data necessary in the decision-making process to drives the company business:- Generate new ideas that lead to the development of new products, test procedures, and protocols.- Assist in advancing new technologies to improve performance and sustainability and reduce costs of building design and construction.- Refine designs of existing products.- Conduct and assist research projects involving collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing lab results.- Operate sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.- Use sound scientific principles and advanced material characterization techniques to establish relationships between physical properties and field performance.- Execute plan trials to transfer small-scale laboratory technology into large-scale plant production.- Manage technical business support for current products, including raw material qualification, benchmarking of competitive products.- Promote environmental, safety, and health regulation by ensuring standards, policies, and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.- Represent Polyglass USA at key industry meetings and technical conferences.- Assist in training new R&D scientists and technicians.- Contribute to laboratory maintenance and in keeping an efficient laboratory environment.
