Responsible for mapping current research on adolescent well-being across domains such as health, education, empowerment, gender equality and ICT/digital technologies, using a child rights-based lens, to inform advocacy on a future research agenda for evidence-informed policy-making for adolescents and young people.• Conducting the first-ever assessment of evidence maps on adolescents, popularised by organisations including UNICEF, 3ie Save the Children, International Rescue Committee, USAID and DFID, to map research on adolescents for evidence-informed policy-making.• Developing a methodology to systematically search, identify, collate, and synthesise evidence maps including designing a conceptual framework, search strategy, inclusion/exclusion criteria, textual coding frame, analysis strategy and dissemination strategy. • Managing a steering committee of prominent academics in child rights and youth research from around the world, identifying potential for advocacy on a future research agenda with governments, donors, academia, NGOs and other children’s rights initiatives.

Responsible for supervising teams for large-scale research projects, including situational analyses of young people, youth consultations, and designing advocacy strategies. Acted as project manager for technical assistance work with the British Council, the Commonwealth, DFID, the European Commission, Oxfam Novib, UNICEF country offices (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan), UNICEF ECARO, UNICEF HQ and UNDP. • Research and analysis work involving survey development, key informant interviews, focus groups with children and young people, providing strategic planning advice and drafting reports on children and adolescence for technical assistance clients including UNICEF Armenia, UNICEF CEE/CIS Regional Office, UNICEF Belarus, UNICEF Kazakhstan and UNICEF Azerbaijan.• Developed country fact sheets, profiling 193 countries and the current state of youth policies, youth rights, public institutions, civil society engagement, demographics, economic and legal contexts, using a combination of original primary research and secondary worldwide datasets.• Coordinated a global research project involving the training and mentorship of 18 young researchers from 5 regions using a youth-led, participatory research methodology, resulting in a global advocacy report (print and online) "From Rhetoric to Action: Understanding the Enabling Environment for Child and Youth Development"• Facilitated thematic workshops with youth policy professionals and academics on areas such as children and youth rights and justice at the UN First Global Forum on Youth Policies (Baku, Azerbaijan 28-30 October 2014).• Co-author of the Commonwealth's 2016 Youth Development Index• Member of the UNICEF expert group on adolescent participation

Founded the Hague Interns Association, a volunteer-run advocacy organisation protecting intern rights and promoting paid internships at the UN and international organisations in The Hague, and globally, and responsible for communication tools and advocacy strategies. • Developed the concept, goals and mission for the founding of the first intern advocacy organisation in The Hague, Netherlands, engaging 1000+ interns yearly.

Coordinated youth volunteers and fostered youth participation and leadership through engagement with global humanitarian issues and the defence of human rights.• Founded the University of Calgary Red Cross Club in June 2004, and organised, motivated and supported 70+ students as President (2004-2006).• Created, implemented and conducted two experiential-learning workshops designed for high school and university students on humanitarian issues such as child soldiers and HIV/AIDS.

National youth representative to the Board of Governors, responsible for advising the organisation on youth participation and engagement nationally, and safeguarding the right of youth to participate in decision-making in areas that impact them.• Led a team of ten staff and volunteers in a two-year long project, for the research, design and development of a Youth Engagement Strategy (Awarded the 2009 Canadian Red Cross National Certificate of Merit for these efforts). • Conducted a multi-step national consultation with governance members, staff, volunteers and donors to gain buy-in from various stakeholders in the policy development stage.

Responsible for conducting policy research pertaining to international partnerships on global mercury reduction, preparing briefing papers and presentations• Contributed to a team effort in the successful planning and execution of an international mercury safety conference, held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2008.

Provided research for the client (Government of Canada) through reviewing departmental files, archival files and other primary and secondary source materials relevant to specific litigation • Contributed to the successful completion of a genealogy of one of Canada’s largest and most significant Aboriginal families, through review and analysis of archival files.
