Cristina received her graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University in 1997. She pursued additional expertise from leaders in the field of feeding and swallowing disorders, and sought to foster learning in young children through her work with Westchester Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Ladge Speech and Hearing Center of LIU at CW Post University, and the Association for Children with Down Syndrome. She is a member of the American Cleft Palate Cranio-facial Association, the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and the New Hampshire Breastfeeding Task Force. Cristina earned her certification as a NOMAS licensed practitioner, as an S.O.S therapist and a PROMPT level II certified clinician. Cristina is pursuing board certification with the International Board of Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). She received recognition three consecutive times from the American Speech Language Association (2011, 2021, 2023) for her pursuit of professional continuing education above and beyond the criteria for licensure in New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. Cristina developed an active multidisciplinary private private practice in Huntington, New York while also working full time for a ACDS, a school for young children with multiple challenges. In 2020, following a family relocation to New Hampshire, she began her work with Easter Seals NH, serving communities in Southern New Hampshire via Early Supports and Services and outpatient care. In 2021, she was promoted to the position of Senior Speech and Language Pathologist with Easter Seals. In September of 2022, she accepted a teaching position with Northeastern University’s graduate program in speech-language pathology. In September of 2024, she will begin a new role teaching at the University of New Hampshire, as well. She and her husband are licensed foster parents and she has recently completed her training to become a CASA GAL (court appointed special advocate) to help children in foster care have a voice in their court proceedings. Cristina volunteers for Horizons for the Homeless as a Playspace assistant, offering children in shelters safe opportunities to play and form positive relationships.
