Assistant Professor of Psychology

As the HR Manager, I was responsible for day to day HR activities including all employee benefits, maintenance of insurance coverage such as property, liability, and workers compensation as well as many other HR issues. I am solely responsible for developing and maintaining personnel rules and regulations, personnel records and other personnel related duties. As the City Recorder, I am responsible for maintaining the minutes of the regularly scheduled meetings. I am in charge of writing and keeping track of all city records. I prepare resolutions and ordinances for consideration of the governing body and maintain the municipal code of ordinances. As one of the city’s key managers, I am part of a seven member management team that works together in the daily operations of the city.A strategic Human Resources Professional and proactive business partner possessing of five years of related experience, with expertise that includes developing human resources strategies, creating and implementing initiatives to improve operations, directing executive and supervisor-level training programs, and guiding all human resource functions to support multi-site operations.Work in all areas of HR including, but not limited to HRD, employee relations, benefits & talent management, recruitment and retention, leadership training, and organizational development. As the City Recorder for the City: Coordinates and supervises record management for City operations. Coordinates and disseminates information for City Commission, City Attorney, City Manager, Department Heads and the public at large.

As an Adjunct Faculty in the School of Education and Psychology, I teach an undergraduate Developmental Psychology class.

As a Human Resource Intern with the leading manufacturer in refuse and recycling collection, I was responsible for the staffing of hourly new employees. Aspects of HR, including recruiting, interviewing, benefits enrollment, 401K Enrollment, Pension Plans are involved in nearly every day-to-day activity. I assisted in choosing and implementing new recruiting software, constructing job descriptions. I conducted the new hire orientation along with discrimination training. I was also in charge of the new employee’s benefits orientation and enrollment.
