Social Change Maker l Nonprofit Executive Leader l Consultant l Executive CoachMy life's work centers on building thriving communities through leading, training, and supporting change makers as we address society's most urgent challenges and advance positive change using a racial equity framework, strategies, tools, and resources. Areas of expertise include economic and community development with a focus on building performing arts facilities, mixed use developments, nonprofit leadership, finance, capital campaigns, organizational development and culture. As a community developer, I have direct experience capitalizing, designing and building creative arts spaces as part of community and economic development efforts as both a fundraiser, owner and project manager; promoting the arts in partnership with cities and the local business community to create and preserve culture, rebuild and physically transform neighborhoods while engaging diverse communities/sectors. My first decade in the workforce was as a community organizer and activist on behalf of small and immigrant owned businesses and communities. My start was in policy making as a state Senate legislative aide, grew into a local advocate for small business, and as an arts and culture executive leader, building thriving cultural organizations as part of community and economic development goals. A Bay Area native, I'm proud to be a "double-bear", having earned an Executive MBA from the Haas School of Business and a BA in Political Science, both from UC Berkeley. Board service/volunteer work centers around increasing access to the arts and arts education by serving on the boards of American Conservatory Theater (ACT), global aerial dance company Bandaloop, and as Board Chair of youth driven climate justice organization Frontline Catalysts. My career and values align behind building the beloved community from an equity and gender-based lens with a bias towards building solutions for the common good.
