Mental Health Clinician
CurrentWeekly individual therapy sessions for children, adolescents, and adults in both office and school settings. Diagnose, develop/coordinate treatment plans, and communicate with clients and their support systems. Maintain medical records using BUI/ECET. Perform assessments for health insurance requirements. Participate in IEP/504 Plan development and implementation. Use cognitive therapies, behavioral therapies, and person-centered therapies to aid in trigger identification, coping skills development and implementation, goal setting, and crisis management.• Clinician for multiple clients (15-30) from ages 5-22.• Provide intake coordination by completing paperwork and explaining informed consent, client rights, and confidentiality. • Assess client by completing Mental Status Exam, CANS, and Comprehensive Assessments, that include risk factor evaluations.• Diagnose client condition(s) using the DSM-5. Identify diagnostic criteria and levels of impaired functioning. • Design and update client’s treatment plans by indicating assessed needs, goals, objectives, and service modalities. Coordinate treatment with multiple service providers by making referrals and participating as an active member of service teams.• Assess and identify needs for a client’s crisis risk management.• Participate in school team meetings to support the client in receiving appropriate academic and behavioral accommodations. Write letters of recommendation for IEP’s and 504 Plans in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Counsel clients on identifying triggers, duration, frequency, and intensity levels of heightened symptoms of conditions. Educate clients on skill building, decreasing symptoms, and increasing social/emotional baselines. Work on communication and coping skills in all life domains.
