Anne Mckee is a 90 year old spitfire that has been a huge part of the Key West community since the 1970's. Since then, Anne has recorded her life and the history of her time in written diaries year after year. She requested these diaries be typed so her grandchildren could read them and keep them as a part of their history. To accomplish this, Anne would verbally dictate from the written diaries, editing and elaborating as she went, as I typed her spoken word on my PC. It was an amazing experience reliving the life of an incredible, strong, intelligent woman over the years. Among her many contributions to the island I lived on for a few years was the start of an artists grant that continues to provide means for local artists to keep creating. This experience was life changing. I hope to see my friend again.
