I have led scientific programs doing innovative and important physics research in the national interest. My career has spanned a broad range of abilities and interests: fusion devices from tokamaks to spheromaks to inertial confinement, diagnostics including spectroscopy and fusion products, and issues of plasma confinement, MHD flow physics, hydrodynamic instabilities and turbulent mix, and dynamic materials research. This includes experience with creating and using computer modeling and simulation tools, and interest in and experience with science-based stockpile stewardship. I intend to continue to be a mentor for other physicists and scientific leaders.However, now I am Executive Director of a semi-professional musical theater production company, using my strategic and business skills to create a "miniexplosion of the theater scence" in Santa Fe.Specialties: Plasma Physics and Fusion; high-temperature plasma diagnostics; hydrodynamic instabilities and turbulent mix; dynamic materials research and brilliant light sources; and a growing interest in the science of climate.
