Throughout the continual relocations required of an Air Force spouse, I did it my way! Running my own business allowed me to keep my accounting skills sharp while juggling the demands of family and military life. I empowered my clients to create order from chaos and utilize their financial data through organization, education, and operational support. For my small business clients, I helped to relieve the administrative burden of accounting and finance, and I provided the peace of mind and freedom for owners to focus on their areas of expertise. I also assisted individual and independent contractor clients with personal financial organization, bookkeeping, financial analysis, and tax and retirement planning resources.

Here, I discovered the joy of helping small business owners and realized the depth of my organizational talents! Happily, I resolved a backlog of billing and created a timekeeping and receivables database to collect 97% of outstanding receivables within three months of hire, injecting over $500K into cashflow. Having cultivated a strong relationship with the ownership group, I convinced them to let me establish a full-service payroll and accounting function in-house and eliminate costly outsourced services. I grew to assume the management of all financial and business transactions. After two incredibly adventurous years, I hired and trained my own replacement staff prior to an impending military relocation.

Before the COMSYS acquisition of BEST Consulting (fka Venturi Technology Partners), I promoted from payroll administration into the GL/Accounting supervisor role after just two years of proven dedication and resourcefulness. I flourished in this role, finding a perfect fit for my detail-oriented, highly analytical nature, and I received priceless mentorship from both the regional controller and corporate CFO. During acquisitions, I operated as a key team member, incorporating several additional branches into the Western Region, for which I managed all aspects of the general ledger and regional financial reporting. Moreover, I enjoyed the easy rapport and continual collaboration with regional managers, helping them to interpret their financial statements, analyze profitability, and calculate quarterly incentives. After the final acquisition by Comsys, I traveled extensively to effectively transition all regional accounting functions to the newly consolidated headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
