In my role at CPC, I am tasked with leading a youth program into new and exciting territory. I have helped take a core group of devoted students and leverage their commitment to the youth group for the overall growth of the church. I have sought to do this through focusing on creating safe and encouraging environments for student to explore their faith and expand their souls together. Since assuming the role in fall 2019, the following goals have been achieved and initiatives have been started: • Weekly youth group attendance has tripled. • Adult volunteer engagement has increased from two regular volunteer leaders to three regulars with four more in the onboarding process. • A large scale campaign to remodel the youth facilities proposed to and approved by Session. Presented at January congregational meeting. Expected completion date of September 2020. • Began teaching at Faith Cafe, Sunday morning’s adult education opportunity.

In my role at Asbury, I oversee all youth ministry programs for middle school and high school children with approximately 60 regular students each week. I am accountable for introducing students to Jesus Christ, helping students grow in their walk with Christ, and equipping students and leaders to do the work of the ministry. My responsibilities include:Creating powerful and compelling environments for teenagers and young adults to engage with their faith in meaningful ways including learning basic doctrine and theology.Recruitment and leadership of youth volunteer teamDeveloping an education strategy for students which focuses on teaching core doctrine within the context of real life. Aspects of this have included selecting and/or writing age-specific curriculum for use by either myself or other teachers.Teaching regularly in youth gatherings and main services.Working with other church staff members and church leaders to continually improve the effectiveness of the youth and young adult ministries as well as the ministries of the whole church.Leading annual youth mission trips both domestically and internationally.

At School of Rock I am one of two percussion instructors, teaching 10-12 students a week. The lessons are very structured and we study the School of Rock curriculum as well as spend time focusing on technique, tempo, and other basic fundamentals. School of Rock takes a unique, performance based approach with students and has designed the program to have students playing together in bands as early in their musical development as possible. As part of this approach, advanced students audition for and perform a season ending concert. As part of the spring 2013 concert, I was asked by the School of Rock Music Director to compose drum parts for songs from Pink Floyd's "The Wall" as several songs from that album do not have percussion. These parts were adopted into the show and performed by the drummers.

In my role as Quality Assurance Engineer, I function as the company’s point man for all quality-related projects for the company’s second largest customer - a medical device company. Among my responsibilities are project management and development of new products, thorough inspections of product adhering to strict FDA enforced criteria as well as stringent customer specifications, and document creation within an ISO certified and quality management system. Part of my role also involves auditing and qualifying vendors as part of New-Tech supplier development team. In addition, I also studied Lean Sigma methodologies in training for Green Belt certification - specifically focusing on making processes more efficient while increasing customer satisfaction and overall quality of the product. I also assisted the Director of Quality and Quality Systems Manager in the registration and audit process for ISO 9001:2008. The calibration and design sections of the standard were given to me to develop and control. As a result of my work, both sections passed with zero non-conformities.

In the eCommerce department of the world’s largest independent drum shop, I learned valuable customer service skills as the lead salesman in the shop’s most successful department. Most importantly, I developed relationships with my customers - listening to their needs and used the questions they ask to help them get the products they want. This has greatly improved the shop’s reputation and overall success. In addition to this, I have used my extensive knowledge of the percussion world to become one of the shop’s Pro Drum Specialists specializing in custom orders as well as online product listings.

I was the producer and co-host of the world’s longest running drum podcast. I organized show topics, listener phone calls and emails, as well as provided most of the show’s social media content and marketing. As needed, I would serve as the fill-in host. Segments I contributed to included explanation of various drum styles, a walkthrough of making your own drums, and various other aspects of drumming. From 2008-2009, I wrote daily articles for the show’s blog on a number of topics ranging from music industry news to newly released gear to tips and techniques for drummers. Recently I returned to Drummer Talk as co-host and will be performing many of the same roles.
