Contract Digital Designer / Actionscript EngineerKaleidoscope Sports And Entertainment Mar 2010 - Sep 2010In March 2010, KSE asked Rebecca to help with the development of a sweepstakes portal for Chevrolet and Major League Baseball (MLB). One of the biggest challenges during this project was developing a solution that allowed a web page on MLB servers to pass data to a web page on KSE servers, which in turn would build itself out based on the data from the other web page. Part of how the KSE page built itself out was by passing data to a web service and then using the data from the web service to generate a tally board, listing top entry ZIP codes and city names for a region of the US, and a list of Chevrolet dealers nearest to the visitor’s ZIP code. Rebecca was able to accomplish this by developing a Flash movie, using the Flex framework, to facilitate the communication with the web service and then KSE’s web page. After the completion of this project, Rebecca started developing a library of highly reusable classes to help streamline production. From these classes Rebecca developed a Flash form that could be rapidly built and modified using XML. This form architecture was then used in sweepstakes sites for the Country Music Association, Lilith Fair, and NASCAR.
