Working in a small managing committee along side an editorial board to re-introduce a student run journal for the department of Geography and Sustainable Development. I contribute to the overall strategic vision of the journal, particularly looking at making the journal sustainable in the future by imbedding the journal into university life.I work on creating and submitting funding applications, both for internal university funds aswell as external funds. Managing the groups bank accounts, creating and presenting regular reports to the committee. Furthermore I support a range of teams such as the visibility team when organising events with funding aswell as organisaing merchandise for the journal team, and the design team when printing the journal.I foster and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the university, for example the Director of Teaching within the department, so that the journal can be mutually beneficial to students and the university.

Worked with colleagues from two rural food stores to implement national campaigns and local activities, for example Local Community Funding and School visits.In this role I worked closely with the food stores which required me to understand the ‘rhythm’ of the store (when there are staffing issues or when the store is busy etc..) so that I could work with store colleagues effectively.The role was a public facing job, each month I engaged with over 100 customers, members and local residents, both online and in-person. I created my own social media content and also made use of Coop resources to promote the community and the Coop’s work.

For one day week during my final year of high school, I undertook a work placement with the aim of reviewing the work of the Youth Committee and scope out potential development options for future, looking to match the next National Park Partnership Plan period 2023-2028.During the placement I worked with managers and officers across the organisation. I contributed to board meetings, helped inform parts of the National Park Partnership Plan and presented my work to directors in all departments of the authority.I had opportunities to work with individuals external to the organisation. For example I interviewed Lorna Slater MSP, during Green Careers Week 2022.
