PresidentNode, Llc Feb 2010 - Dec 2018San Antonio, Tx, UsFounded on the principal that small business IT support companies must embrace Cloud technologies, I created Node for just that purpose in 2010. We have been migrating customer workloads into cloud based systems since then. The traditional role of IT support for business is changing dramatically because of new technologies that offer increased stability, and reduced management. Node is positioned to be a Cloud Managed Services industry leader. Schedule a meeting to discuss how you are going to help bridge Cloud IT technology into the systems that you maintain. -
It Services DirectorTotalcom Management Jan 2008 - Feb 2010I created the IT Department at Totalcom Management after my Managed Services firm was acquired in 2008. There, I manage a staff of IT technicians, perform Sales Engineering, Project Engineering, Outsourced IT Management and 24/7 Monitoring on a wide variety of systems, and integration of a vast array of technologies. These include Fiber, Burglar Alarms, Fire Alarms, CCTV, Phone Systems and many other integrated devices. I also do a great deal of bridging RS-232 and 485 to CAT 5 TCP/IP networks. I engineer and deploy servers, networks, and infrastructure to small and many medium sized local businesses. I manage and monitor many of these clients as an Outsourced IT Department. I also frequently work on projects for many of the largest National Public Corporations doing a variety of network and server swings.

PresidentIntelliwyse, Inc. Jan 2004 - Jan 2009Founding Intelliwyse in 2004, I grew the company from the ground up into a successful IT Management Firm for Small Businesses in San Antonio. I performed business management and accounting functions, sales and marketing, Project Engineering and Project Management, R&D for products, services and future roadmap projects. I also acted as the last line of defense for the most technical issues that my technicians could not solve. Intelliwyse grew to 5 technicians at it's peak before being acquired by Totalcom Management in 2008 where I went on to serve as the IT Director.

CioSmartbridge Partners, Llc Jan 2002 - Jan 2007A Principle founder of SmartBridge, along with Jerry Norman (CEO), Chuck Peddy (CFO) and Michael Cross (Deceased/Chair), my role as the CIO was very much the same as my duties as an IT Director. I would engineer servers and networks for clients based on specifications to run a midrange accounting package. The big difference with Smartbridge was that I was working with a wider variety of off-the-shelf Line of Business applications so I had to consider a much broader spectrum of configurations and compatibilities. SmartBridge Partners today is a successful Midrange Accounting Software services firm with offices in Austin and Lafayette serving the Gulf Coast region. I continue to serve as a Principle Partner and member of the BOD.

It DirectorArray Systems, Inc. Jan 2000 - Jan 2004Was a Principle Partner in Array Systems, founded by Jeff Land, Larry Ridder, Michael Cross and myself in 2000 after departing from Clear Channel Communications. Array provided Midrange Accounting Software implementation and support with a focus on MAS 200. It was also a Sage Software Master Developer and wrote custom modules for MAS. As the IT Director, I focused on implementing the horizontal Microsoft technology that the accounting software ran on. I also provided turnkey network support and typically was the only network engineer in a large circle of programmers, MBA's and CPA's who where driving these projects. This allowed me to develop a very deep insight into the inner workings of companies in dozens of different verticals and would help me later in future endeavors. Here I worked frequently in the national field, often flying around to build a network in another state. I learned how to plan ahead, and bring everything with me because an extra day and a UPS Overnight delivery for a CD when your in Gallup New Mexico just doesn't fly very well.I worked heavily with UNIX systems here, mostly migrating offices away from them to Windows 2000 but had to do allot of support on them in the process.Ultimately, Array Systems was shut down after the Key Principle passed away untimely from cancer. 2 years prior however, Array had merged with SmartBridge Partners which I went on to serve as the CIO for. Since the core business for SmartBridge was not IT Management but was Business Process Control System Software, I created a new entity which became my primary employer - Intelliwyse.

Network EngineerClear Channel Communications Jan 1996 - Jan 2000London, England, GbWhen I started working at Clear Channel, Corporate took up about 1/2 of a floor at the Concord Plaza building in San Antonio. Most of the users in accounting and executives like Mark and Randall Mays had monochrome dumb terminals connected to a Unix system. A couple of the Executive Assistants had some 486's running DOS or WIN 3.1. There where probably about 25 people working there and about all they owned was a couple radio stations. I started as the IT helpdesk. Since my previous job responsibility was a PC Tech, I started building new custom whiteboxes for everyone in corporate, running Windows 98. After I upgraded everyone, and Andy Way, my first network mentor, got the NT 4.0 server up, I went on to provide helpdesk support. For the next 2 years I served as the helpdesk for Clear Channel corporate. What was odd, was that while I was working as the helpdesk, the old company that I worked for which had been acquired by Clear Channel continued doing outside consulting for Accounting Software and network support. I was frequently called out into the field even while acting as the helpdesk for corporate, and deployed as a field network engineer building and supporting a wide range of SMB companies. About 1998, Clear Channel's stock started going off the chart. They built a new datacenter, which made the IT staff grow from about 3, including myself, to over 250 in the next 2 years. I was heavily involved in the details of the first datacenter buildout, and had the opportunity to learn how to work with some of the most sophisticated IT systems of the day from some of the countries brightest minds. This would give me a tremendous advantage later.Ultimately, I was assigned to a special division that worked on national MAS 200 implementations for Clear Channel's vast new holdings. When the conversion completed in 2000, the division was cut and restructured as Array Systems where I served as a Principle Partner. -
Pc TechnicianMcs Computers Jan 1994 - Jan 1996Built and troubleshot PC's and small networks. Worked with UNIX Server installations in a variety of verticals, mostly working as directed building serial connectors, installing boards and manipulating dip switches. Worked on the UNIX command line VI Editing config files and executing scripts. I would also set up PC's running Windows and DOS to connect to the UNIX servers over RS-232 Serial connections. This was before TCP/IP was widely used, however I started building small networks on IP protocols as early as 1994 when most people where still using IPX/SPX. I also learned how to configure NT 4.0 and NT 3.5. I frequently worked with dial-up modems and multiplexers to build Wide-Area networks for serial communication between Unix systems. In 1996, Clear Channel awarded MCS their MAS 200 upgrade project with their accounting system. They decided to acquire MCS, as they needed IT resources due to rapid growth. While we only had 3 people at the time, we where able to fill the gap for a couple years and never stopped supporting our core client base in the process.
