As a new university, my focus has been to engage faculty, staff, and students to establish a culture committed to excellence, inclusivity, and service to the community. Built the Office of Medical Education to drive the implementation of the MD program. Direct two offices, Curriculum and Assessment, to deliver curriculum development and implementation, curriculum mapping, assessment, classroom support, committee support, clinical partnership development and maintenance, and course/program evaluation for the MD and Master of Biomedical Science Programs.Curriculum staff works with faculty and staff to ensure effective deployment and implementation of curriculum, daily schedule, production of educational materials (e.g., syllabi, lecture materials, program/course/session learning objectives, etc.), student scheduling, coordination of academic advising, MSPE and Chair’s letter generation, development and support of supplemental instructional/technical tools, development and maintenance of Curriculum Inventory.Assessment staff focuses on the implementation and management of iRAT/tRAT sessions, in-house end-of-course exams, NBME exams, and competency-based clinical student assessments completed by hospital staff. Development, deployment, and analysis of course and faculty evaluations. Interrogate multiple modes of feedback to explore the efficacy of pedagogies and assessment methods to elicit informed conversations with leadership and drive strategic planning sessionsMaintain the role of Psychometrician, consult and/or perform statistical analysis for student performance and program/course data, and ad hoc projects and studies with faculty and students. OASIS manages several functions required for maintaining student information, including course catalog, schedules, calendar of events, collection of final and component grades, evaluations (e.g., course, instructor, lecture, student assessments), patient encounter logs, curriculum inventory and mapping, plus many other miscellaneous items. Involved in many major projects to improve and/or build upon educational technologies and processes• Streamlined reporting processes to reduce turnaround time from request to delivery from three to four weeks (and up to “never”) to one day; with an easy-to-read, user-friendly interface. Creating more efficient processes also provided an opportunity to increase the volume of data produced and delivered• Increased daily unique users of OASIS seven-fold and the number of evaluations submitted via OASIS 15-fold during my tenure at MCW – from 6,000 per academic year to over 120,000 with the same number of staff.• Develop tools for competency-based assessment collection and reporting based on work group needs• Transitioned paper processes to online, automated processes. Assisted Project Managers in various areas for marketing research: developing questionnaires, training phone interviewers, addressing interviewer bias, field editing, data analysis, report production, Query programming (for phone interviews and data entry), sample/database management, monitoring internal online applications. Explored greater functionality of software and internal processes for higher efficiency and improved understanding and communication across functional areas.… Show more Assisted Project Managers in various areas for marketing research: developing questionnaires, training phone interviewers, addressing interviewer bias, field editing, data analysis, report production, Query programming (for phone interviews and data entry), sample/database management, monitoring internal online applications. Explored greater functionality of software and internal processes for higher efficiency and improved understanding and communication across functional areas. Implementation of new and more efficient processes is what I came to be known for around the office. Several of these process improvements reduced three to four hour tasks down to half-hour to hour tasks, others cut time by 25 to 50%. These improvements also eliminated or reduced the element of human-error. Show less
