TSELA is a design division of TACHI-S Co Japan, responsible for developing automotive seating design projects for NISSAN and HONDA. They support manufacturing plants in Mexico, Brazil and their testing facilities in the US.• Lead engineer for NISSAN’s Brazil MARCH car project. Responsible for assuring the design, drafting documentation, CAD models, prototypes and written reports were ready before the start of production; ensuring quality and compliance with ASME/ISO specification.• Preparing engineering drawings and CAD models for manufacturing and submitting them according to customers’ policies.• Participating in meetings which involved sales, purchasing and lean manufacturing departments to assist in the decision making process and meet tight deadlines.• Finding the root cause of design issues and troubleshoot with effective counter measures to maintain quality according to client’s requirements.Accomplishments:• Designed and created new technology frames. This design resulted in an annual savings of $60,000 USD. Created 3D modelling data and performed stress analysis with Solidworks. • International trip to Brazil to optimize the costing of new parts. Ensured the new suppliers’ manufacturing methods and documentation met our standards. The Packaging Laboratory at CeDIAM gives support to different industries in Mexico, to assist them with technical consulting, packaging design and testing; normally related to product development and continuous improvement. As a project engineer, I was in charge of developing packaging solutions for various industries, which include: transportation, plastics and automotive for QC (quality control).• Direct involvement in product development of packaging projects; from conceptual design, sales, construct of prototypes, and drawings creation to final tests to certify packages at ISTA.• Technical support to improve client’s package design and performance during transport.• Operating equipment to perform tests and creating reports to certify packages which prevent product damage during transportation.• Establishing/maintaining diplomacy and professionalism with customer representatives.Accomplishments:• Successfully implemented operations of a Packaging laboratory at ITESM Campus Aguascalientes, receiving training from Lansmont Company. As a result, there was an increase of $30,000 in the first year.• Laboratory manager, achieving ITESM packaging Laboratory Certification on ISTA in 2011. This allowed the certification of packages that met international standards to enable customers to approve shipment by air, sea or highway. • Coordinated a packaging standardization project. The project was for a packaging material change for electronic interrupters. We saved over $100,000 USD/year for SENSATA.
