José Cruz has 23+ years of continuous usage and valuable experience in MicroStation and AutoCAD design software working on the heavy construction industry projects. José also possesses several years of experience acting as a Lead CADD Technologist and Project CADD Coordinator. José is currently responsible to lead all Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), The City of Toronto and Peel Region MicroStation projects.As Project CADD Coordinator and advanced user of MicroStation, using the available technology, José acts as a CADD Manager on projects configuring and synchronizing project CADD standards within the company’s network drives using MicroStation variables. Performing and providing this setup, the project team can have the same MicroStation environment and interface for the entire project. José also configures batch plotting and single file printing settings for the project team. José is also a mentor to new MicroStation users and responds to queries and provides MicroStation tips and support to users. Moreover, José is trained and capable to work with 3D BIM projects using Bentley Products such as Architectural and Structural (formerly) TRIFORMA. Bentley BIM re-branded the package as Bentley Building Designer – AECOsim. José coordinates the submission of CADD files and hard copies previously checked for compliance (QA/QC) with client’ standards and create batch plots of PDF files for all disciplines. He also coordinates with repro-companies to upload PDF files to its website to prepare sets of hard copies for submittal from small to large size projects and specifications to be delivered to clients. In addition, he contributes to the team preparing preliminary design drawing sketches for the client, civil, architectural structural, reinforcing detailing, and HVAC-Plumbing details and drawings when he is not coordinating projects.
