Developed back-end web service applications, written in both Java ​and ​Groovy​, to provide industry-standard implementations of protocols for inter-airline communication. Wrote ​JUnit ​integration and unit tests for existing and new code. Developed ​Postman ​runbooks to augment internal test suites, and to provide the QA team with sample scenarios. Worked with ​Visual Studio CI/CD​ services to develop log monitoring​ for these services, as well as generating dashboards for monitoring errors and traffic. Created ​Splunk queries to help detect and debug implementation issues. Helped determine business requirements for implementation, and maintain ​Jira ​dashboards for outstanding work and project tracking. Helped direct and instruct an intern student who was partially assigned to the project.

Developed tools (​bash​ shell, ​Ruby​) to automate data migrations (​Jira​, ​Confluence​), backups (Jira, Confluence, Docker​) and software upgrades. Developed migration plans for Jira and Confluence, to merge two instances from different teams, with conflicting data, username conflicts, plugin conflicts, licensing issues and versioning issues

Worked with a 10-15 person team to consistently release new features, enhancements and bug fixes on the core guest web experience for booking and managing flights, using Agile/SCRUM methodologies. Implemented enhancements and bug fixes to the booking back-end ​REST​ services, using ​Java​, ​Spring Boot​ and, using Swagger​, generated interactive documentation for all published endpoints. Implemented Cancel and Exchange functionality in the Manage My Trips responsive web front-end, using KnockoutJS​, ​JQuery​, ​Bootstrap​, ​TypeScript​ and ​LESS​; componentized, refactored and documented large portions of legacy code to provide maintainability for current and future developers. Worked with native app developers to embed the responsive application into their guest experience. Led discussions on adoption of new technology, including Angular​, ​React​, ​Vue​, and ​Polymer​; provided training and guidance to team members for various technologies, including TypeScript​, ​git​, and ​Jira​.

With over 30 years of experience, the QI team is familiar with the whole range of computing technology, old and new, and has the skills and experience to become expert in any new technologies that appear.

Developed a data extraction system​ to pull free-form and tabular data from multiple Word report documents for insertion into Meridium APM. Created a ​REST API​ for KPI management, for creation of KPI definitions and storage of KPI data, using ​Entity Framework​, ​ASP.NET MVC​, ​SQL Server​ and ​SignalR​. This API was consumed by a KPI portal developed with Composite​, ASP.NET MVC, JQuery, and Highcharts. Progressed application development, ​build and deployment practices​ by steering development teams to use available tooling to better automate and iterate development, including TFS, git, Web Deploy, TFS Build Server, and TFS Release Management. Developed ​ETL solutions​ to pull data from Honeywell ​PHD via OPC​ into a cloud-hosted ​Hadoop​ cluster, automating daily extraction and import using .NET, ssh, cygwin, and UNIX scripting. Automated data retrieval from an external vendor FTP site, to SQL Server, via ​SAP BODS​.

Developed a .NET wrapper API​ around the TeamCity software REST API to provide an intuitive interface to developers. Also developed SOAP web services based on this API for platform-agnostic solutions. Developed a .NET wrapper API around the Repliweb software COM interface to provide a modern interface to developers. Also ​developed SOAP and REST web services​ based on this API for platform-agnostic solutions. Used these APIs to ​develop PowerShell utilities​ for automating Build & Release processes. Used these web services to develop an ​ASP.NET Dashboard interface​ to the corporate development environment.

Co-instructed CPSC 550, a full-year, fourth-year course on systems administration, teaching students with varied experience in system administration about hardware, operating systems, system configuration, system tool development, administrative ethics and team problem-solving.

Part of a ten-person technical support group in the Department of Computer Science responsible for daily operations and system maintenance. Team Lead for Research and Security. Involved in most aspects of departmental infrastructure, including system installation and maintenance, configuration policy, network configuration, and user policies, working with products from such companies as Solaris, Linux, Windows, Cisco and Extreme Networks; and technologies including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, iptables, Apache and mysql.Lead the implementation of department-wide monitoring, from system health and accessibility to log processing and network monitoring, using in-house developed tools and technologies such as SNMP, AMT, Nagios, Splunk, Cacti and Snort. Developed an in-house IPAM system, Amphioxus, based on XML and SVN. Later rewritten in C#/.NET. Wrote C, Perl and Python plugins for use in department-wide monitoring of hosts, services and networking. Wrote a distributed password strength testing system to utilize unused CPU cycles across the department, ensuring user passwords were resilient against dictionary attacks.

Early alpha-/beta-tester for a virtual world development environment. Provided bug reports, usage commentary, community aid and content contributed over the two-year tester period.Wrote Lua code and libraries for use by other content developers of varied programming experience, extending the features of the standard API.

Originally provided end-user support for the Verity Development Kit, a set of APIs for incorporating the Verity search-engine into third-party applications.Promoted to Software Developer to write indexing modules interfacing with Microsoft's MAPI system in C++ and a PDF indexer. Also provided design input into the next object-oriented version of the VDK.

Part of a four-person technical support group in the Department of Computer Science responsible for daily operations and system maintenance. Responsibilities included software installations, package compilations, daily maintenance and configuration of DNS, SMTP, NNTP, FTP and web services. Internal projects included a command-line user-suspension tool, an email-integrated issue-tracking system, and a network user monitoring system.
