Clean Vibes is a company formed and dedicated to responsible on-site waste management of outdoor festivals and events. I worked major festivals across the country with anywhere from 20K-100K attendees (Bonnaroo to Outside Lands). I coordinated, scheduled, managed and trained volunteers at each festival along with training and managing other volunteer coordinators. Some events only required 30-50 volunteers, whereas some had over 300! Planning included mapping out locations across a major event site and scheduling volunteers for these locations based on times and major music events. Coordinating this number of volunteers was definitely challenging at times, sometimes volunteers wandered off from their post, some never checked back in after shift or even never showed up for their shift, some volunteers couldn't remain sober during a four-hour shift and had to be managed or let go which resulted in wristband deactivation. It was a lot of work, long shifts, many different people and attitudes, typically in a very hot dusty locale, lots of other factors as well but I loved and enjoyed every moment of it!
