In 2005 I was promoted and joined the Voyager team (SAA’s frequently flyer program) as a senior manager, member management. Responsibilities included, taking care of and building relationships with high-end clients, i.e. Lifetime Platinum, Platinum and a few high-end Gold Voyager Members as well as relationship building of the ATP tennis management responsible for the top 100 ATP tennis players. In 2007 I was head hunted to join Airlink. My career spanned across all ranks from regional manager, to executive manager and to board member of a subsidiary company. All these ranks have been within ground operations. One of my biggest career accomplishments were the successful setting up and implementation of the Johannesburg station and operations in terms of ground handling and self-handling of Airlink passengers. It included the successful implementation of IATA standards and resource efficiencies. This in turn led to being awarded with the Best Manager Award in 2009 by Airports Company South Africa. I was responsible for approximately 400 employees and a sizeable budget within my department. I have been responsible for the opening, setting up and development of new routes and airports, airport airline operations and cargo operations through-out our continent in line with local and international Aviation Law and Governmental Regulations.
