I am a conscientious and eager young person who is always is willing to learn. As a highly organised and efficient individual, I can adapt in either a group or solo environment, with a thorough and precise approach which allows me to get tasks done to the best of my ability. During my time at secondary school, I partook in lots of diverse extra – curricular activities such as: lead singer in a band that represented the school music department, Senior Prefect, multiple Open Year Evening rep and Yearbook editor. These activities have allowed me to improve my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. In my free time, I have been keen to get involved in enrichment activities, such as my involvement in my college's debate club. This ignited my passion for public speaking and improved my ability as an advocate, both in formulating persuasive arguments and communicating effectively. During my time at Strodes College I was also intricately involved in my college’s Student Union, enabling me to work with fellow students and staff leaders in campaigning events and the projection of the voice of the student body. During this time, I had to learn to juggle both academic and student body activities and campaigns. This allowed me to work on my negotiation and public speaking skills, becoming a representative for the learner voice, developing my interpersonal skills.Upon joining Durham University, I have also been keen to continue developing these prior learned skills and have since joined a fundraising campaign for Alzheimer's research. Planning and producing fundraising campaigns for this important cause is something that I am most proud of. I have also recently been appointed as Student Ambassador for the university, enabling me to promote higher education, across the country, to those from low-income areas. I have also been lucky enough to be one of the champions of the Hogan Lovells scholarships this year, allowing me the opportunity to attend staff meetings on how the law school can improve the wider student experience at Durham. I pride myself on being able to continue these roles throughout my time at Durham University, alongside my sporting commitments on both my John Snow College rowing team, and the university horse riding team.
