I work collaboratively with an Naturopathic doctor on staff to address these needs at a deeper level. I believe it is important to support the body and the mind simultaneously. I am a certified Career Counsellor who can assist clients with their work life balance as well as work stress and future career goals. As a Clinician/therapist I currently offer therapy and counselling services to the First Nations community.I work primarily from the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model and service adults, couples and adolescents.

As a Crisis Counsellor, I responded to client needs by providing assessments, referrals, crisis intervention and counselling both in person and over the phone.The individual counselling that I conducted centered around Cognitive Behavioural, Dialectical Behavioural skills as well as a Brief Solution Focused approach that honed in on the client's strengths and preexisting behaviours that were already working for them. In addition, I developed strength based treatment plans with clients where we prioritized needs, identified their goals and expected outcomes.Together with the client, I assisted in creating safety plans during moments where the client was having suicidal thoughts, as well as implemented harm reduction strategies. There were particular circumstances where I attended the Brantford General Hospital in order to conduct youth risk assessments.

As a Therapist Intern at KW Counselling, I offered therapeutic services to the Kitchener-Waterloo community. These services included ongoing therapy for clients consisting of a full service plan as well as walk-in counselling services for individuals once per week. Modalities in which I utilized included Adlerian, Existential, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral and Brief Solution Focused Psychotherapies. All of the services offered were anti-oppressive and inclusive in nature. In addition to working with people on an individual level, I also worked with couples, families as well as co-facilitating the Temper Taming Together group. The group focused on helping children develop the skills to identify, express and manage their emotions more effectively while also helping parents develop the skills to guide and support their children’s emotional experiences. All of the services in which I provided were under the clinical supervision of various professionals registered by the College of Psychotherapists, College of Social Workers and registered Marriage and Family Therapists.

As a Client Advisor I provided front line service to the clients of RBC.I welcomed and trained new Client Advisors at our busy branch who were hired to go mobile within the Kitchener-Waterloo area.My main focus was to provide the most appropriate products to the clients in addition to introducing them to the relevant partners within RBC. I participated in many company initiatives which included seminars for the advancement of women in business as well as environmental awareness programs that were held within the branch. In addition, I was also responsible for cash management within a back up Central Teller role.It was my responsibility to ensure that the branch balanced at the close of day.

I successfully managed an RW&CO store in order to achieve company objectives as well as offered a superb customer experience.I monitored staff performance, moral, store standards and merchandising details, as well as consistently anticipated the needs of the business.I hired and trained staff members in order to be successful within the organization.
