The Academic Success Center, a centralized learning center on campus, offers tutoring and learning assistance to over 10,000 students per year over the course of +100,000 visits, while also offering courses and other programs designed to include a variety of modalities and interact with students at every level of education at USF.As peer tutor and mentor, I have the opportunity to:• Facilitate tailored one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for Organic Chemistry • Implement skills, strategies and best practices to assist students in identifying solutions for academic barriers.• Demonstrate initiative by proactively addressing student needs or issues.

The Medical Engineering Department has a research mission to form multi-disciplinary research groups that are continuously funded as a result of their advancement of scientific understanding and their development of innovative solutions to health care problems.As a Student Assistant in the department, I had the opportunity to:• Order supplies and experimental materials needed to teach undergraduate laboratory courses• Prepare samples for teaching laboratory modules• Create database for inventory management and maintained stock reagents and supplies• Perform routine laboratory functions such as waste removal and eyewash checks• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment

The institution provides compassionate family-centered patient care, performs cutting edge research and delivers quality public and professional education.As an undergraduate research assistant, I had the opportunity to:• Perform immunostaining procedures including western blots and gel electrophoresis under supervision• Perform animal handling techniques including euthanasia and perfusions• Assist in molecular biological techniques in cloning and PCR• Prepare brain tissue for histological and biochemical procedures by sectioning and staining
