• Collaborated with nursing and social work students to develop and evaluate a variety of recreational and exercising activities for dependent seniors in a supportive housing unit to improve their engagement • Shadowed supervisors and case workers on home visits and assessments with professional and non-judgemental stance, to experience challenging environments in which clients live (i.e. poverty, isolation, pests infestations, mental health, and addiction)• Created weekly reflection journals on placement experience to facilitate reflective learning and practice

• Worked with a Registered Dietitian to implement the cooking program in a community setting• Delivered nutrition education on Canada’s Food Guide, calcium, fibre, fats and nutrition label reading and facilitated group discussion each week for program participants from various ethnic backgrounds• Developed a cookbook using Microsoft Publisher, Word, and Photoshop to compile standardized recipes, health tips and personal biographies for program participants to promote healthy eating behaviour• Supervised program participates to complete pre- and post-tests to assess the level of change in their nutrition knowledge and the effectiveness of the program

• Interviewed community members in person or by telephone each day using facilitation skills to collect personal stories or local events, and published three news articles on the life section of the newspaper
