• Support principal advocates for the Company in regulatory proceedings involving cost recovery and other regulatory issues as well as the creation of subject matter expert testimony and exhibits.• Coordinate and oversee Power Grid Operations (PGO) regulatory filings/riders, compliance activities, and shared service rate work.• Collaboration with internal and external legal teams as well as several departments throughout the company to ensure successful submission of requests received from Public Service Commissions (PSC) in various jurisdictions.• Review of entries, invoice submissions, reconciliations and other data pertaining to the billing of large volume gas customers.• Reading of rate case filings for implementation of new and/or updating of riders and rates into GTIS.• Key individual in transitioning billing and accounting work for the Midwest (MW) from other groups within Duke Energy.• Trained team members on work transition from the Midwest.• Compiling and analyzing gas and electric costing information used in financial reporting (FERC, NCUC, SCPSC, SEC, TPUC, etc.) and fulfillment of regulatory requests - working with both regulatory agencies and other internal departments to ensure regulatory requirements and requests are met in an accurate and timely manner.• Assisted with rate case research, assignment of data requests via SharePoint and timely submission of information to the company’s Legal and Regulatory teams as well as the Regulatory Commissions.• Instrumental in automating journal entries and streamlining current regulatory filings, financial schedules, reconciliations, and payment processing – resulting in a savings of over 40 work hours per year.• Retrieval and analysis of accounting information monthly to reconcile accounts and identify variances from the prior month, actual and budget.• Ensure the integrity of gas costing information as well as compliance with state and federal regulations.
