In my day-to-day work, I brainstorm visual concepts and execute creative campaigns with a key focus on social media and digital platforms. I also remain agile in my role, switching from visual storyteller to producer to creative director depending on the demands of the task at hand.Our creative team has also grown almost thrice the size it was when I first joined, which makes it critical to get our team vision and internal processes right. As a senior creative, I am best known in the team for my proactive stance in shaping our team culture and optimising our project management capabilities.

In response to the ongoing climate crisis, I dedicated my spare time to amplifying communications for Upcircle, a startup that channels its efforts into programming circular initiatives.Performing a one-woman show, I developed a successful digital marketing strategy for Upcircle, managed Upcircle's social media pages on Instagram and Facebook, and ran electronic direct mail (EDM) campaigns on Mailchimp. My efforts saw a 40% increase in our follower count on Instagram, translating to an increased footfall at our pop-up thrift store and driving more downloads of our Upcircle app. I leveraged my diverse skillset as an all-around content creator and was responsible for copywriting and designing all marketing collaterals for online and offline campaigns. Most proudly, I conceptualised and designed Upcircle’s mascot, Herbert the Herbivore Lion, and launched an educational Instagram comics series featuring Herbert, for which I scripted, storyboarded, and created the final art.

I was the go-to student designer for everything under the sun from print to web — booklets, reports, posters, banners, animated infographics… I even created coasters that I continue to use till this day!By the power of word-of-mouth recommendations, I was hired by three departments: Arts & Humanities Department, Development Office, and the Centre for Teaching & Learning.

I wore many hats as an all-in-one super intern managing three online businesses under our parent company. Giving my 200% in a startup environment meant that I got my hands dirty and did a lot of everything. I spearheaded my first rebranding project, redesigned our online stores for an optimised user experience, developed and executed an overall content strategy which included running our social media pages and maintaining our blog, and even recruited and managed a team of freelance writers.At the end of my internship, I had fared so well that the founder offered me a retainer contract on top of a cut of the company’s shares. Unfortunately, I turned down the offer to focus on my studies. Unable to find a successor, the company has since ceased operations.

Classes were only an hour long and yet within those 60 minutes, I facilitated 43 activities. The environment was extremely fast-paced (for both teachers and students) and my ability to withstand great pressure and exercise quick judgment was put to the test. I displayed strong collaborative and communication skills, ensuring that classes ran smoothly, and remained patient and attentive to best serve the different needs of my students.

Under Reworld Media, I wrote for Be Asia (http://asia.be.com/) — an online fashion, beauty, and lifestyle magazine targeting ladies in their twenties. I wrote over 120 articles during my internship, independently gathering information, crafting content, and sourcing for accompanying visuals. I pitched and created a majority of the published content on the website during my internship, even producing a viral article that garnered over 12,000 shares.Besides becoming more attuned to fashion trends, I also acquired basic knowledge of SEO and learnt to navigate the backend of WordPress.
