My main function at The Collin County Tax Assessor's Office was to manage and collect for Special Inventory Tax accounts, and perform rollback tax estimates on agricultural exempt properties. These are two very different processes requiring knowledge of two specific software programs. Both functions required, emotional intelligence, negotiation skills, leadership skills, training abilities, and computer knowledge.The process for collecting Special inventory tax included educating new auto dealers on how to get started reporting thier Vehicle Inventory Tax, calculate their UPT rate, how to report their inventory tax on a monthly basis, explain penalties, and enforce penalty payments. We used a special VIT reporting program. I recognized, researched and requested an updated program. The was approved by our Collin County Commissioners, and is still used today. This form of reporting allows all of VIT reporting to be done through our system and no records need to be kept outside of the system and scanned separately. This process saves time, money, and provides proper reporting and retention of records. Tax payers and agents who are in the process of buying or selling agricultural exempt property, need to know the amount of rollback taxes to include in the price a sale. As major land development increased in Collin County, this became a major function of my job. The estimates are used to prepare and negotiate the sale of properties in Collin County. The estimates go back 5 years at the rates that were set at that time. This process requires research, time, and accuracy. Some of the research included land that had been split, or sold in previous years, making calculations more difficult. Often, I was asked to work within tight time restraints, because land deals were being negotiated, and agents were concerned with losing a sale. This process became a specialty of mine, and I was called upon repeatedly by agents.

Specializing in creating personal portfolios of our client’s antiques, fine art, and collectibles for use in appraisals, estate planning, and insurance purposes. These portfolios include a detailed description of every item in the home or office including multiple digital photos of each item showing how it was made, measurements, signatures, etc. The company is a preferred provider for Chubb, Chartis, Firemans Fund and other major Insurance companies.My duties included traveling all over the U.S. and beyond, with my team, performing detailed personal inventories. We were solely a word-of-mouth resource for Personal Line insurance agents. Our inventories were tailored to each client for the the purpose of valuing personal property for appraisal, insurance, and estate planning purposes.
