Laureate Eating Disorders Program is a not-for-profit inpatient eating disorder treatment setting encompassing multilevel care, including acute hospitalization, residential, partial, and transitional housing. Housing 18 adults and 15 adolescents (in separate programs), our focus is intensive individualized treatment, grounded in relationship. As clinical psychologist on staff within the adult program, I offer direct patient care in the realm of individual, family, and group therapy within the intensive multidisciplinary program structure (35 direct patient care hours/ week; therapist-patient ratio 1:3). I utilize an eclectic, individualized approach to treatment in my work; drawing heavily from psychodynamic, family systems, and interpersonal/relational theories (seeking to strengthen a client's core relationship with self and others and to build a strong, secure multidimensional self-identity apart from the eating disorder identity). Mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, valuing, gratitude, body awareness, and strenths-based focus incorporated to aid in stabilization, embodiment, and to increase overall coping resources.
