I am an Associate Professor and Chair of Psychology at the University of St. Thomas (UST) in Houston, TX. As a developmental psychologist, my research focuses on child development, cognition, cross-cultural comparisons, language, and learning. I have administered various cognitive-behavioral assessments on over 1,000 child participants in the U.S. and Vietnam, as well as collaborations on multiple cross-sectional and longitudinal studies in Argentina, Mexico, China, and Japan. I also have experience conducting electroencephalograms/EEG on child and adult populations, with a particular focus on sleep spindle characteristics. I am passionate about educating others about child and adolescent psychology, statistics, lifespan development, language, and race/diversity, along with teaching students how to maximize their degree for graduate work and the job market and finding their true passion in careers in the psychological sciences and related fields.
