My responsibilities as a consumer reader include reviewing and analyzing RFRs proposed by the insurance plans that apply to be in the One-Care program for 2026 procurement, reviewing my analysis with team members, and providing feedback to MassHealth, CMS, and the plans.

The One Care (Duals Demonstration) Implementation Council plays a key role in monitoring access to health care and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), tracking quality of services, providing support and input to EOHHS, and promoting accountability and transparency.

Care Model Focus Initiative (CMFI) assessment of OneCare's progress and how MassHealth might further enhance program execution along the domains of person-centered care, care team roles and composition, assessment process/timing, individualized care plans, care coordination (including LTSS and BH), member experience and satisfaction, member protections, communications to and from members, health equity for One Care members, and care model performance indicators. The Core Team examines Care Model domains to assess what challenges exist that need more attention, prioritize areas of needed improvement, identify action steps needed to improve, and establish deliverables and timelines for those activities. The CMFI will also look at what is working well and explore ways to expand on them.

Urban Institute & Community Catalyst Community Advisory Board is a diverse group of community members selected to voice community perspective as co-leaders and/or advisers on a project team. Our focus is Medicaid and Healthcare Equity.

We are a coalition of disability advocacy organizations, state agencies, and other stakeholders. We work to improve the health of people with disabilities across the state. As co-chair, I help plan the meetings, set agendas, put together panelists on various public health issues impacting people with disabilities. Topics for meetings I've organized include:• Emergency Preparedness for People with Disabilities• Invisible Disabilities: Long-COVID and other Post-Infectious Illnesses• Rare Disease & Public Health• Abuse and Neglect of People with Disabilities

DPC Advocacy Committee focus on policy and legislation around the needs of people with disabilities.Areas of focus include healthcare, durable medical equipment, housing, architectural access, disabled parents rights, and emergency preparedness.

The Disability Policy Consortium (DPC) is an organization of disability rights activists who share a common goal of equal opportunity for all individuals with disabilities. DPC is committed to fostering understanding and support through advocating and educating for each individual's quality of life including the ability to live independently in whatever community one may choose. The Disability Policy Consortium's mission is to promote inclusion, independence, and empowerment by guiding statewide development of policies that ensure that programs and services enable people with disabilities to participate in the political, economic, and social mainstream of the Commonwealth. The DPC provides a vital link for information to consumers, agencies, organizations, and legislators.

Since 2003, I've spoken both locally and nationally at universities, to organizations, and other events on topics around healthcare, homelessness and disability. My audiences have ranged from small college classes, audiences of up to 500, being a panelist, speaking at rallies, as well as formal events. Health equity, rare disease, disability history, voter accessibility, disability justice, disabled parenting, and community accessibility are among recent topics I have spoken on.
