Organizing, assembly, and improvements are activities that I perform for free. I am drawn to opportunities where I am required to provide measureable improvement, assemble physical and virtual processes, and organize through standardization. I enjoy working in SAP & Oracle ERP systems. I know that sounds strange, but I believe ERP systems create a lot of opportunity for process improvements in businesses. I think that the real power within an ERP system is the implementation of best practices processes. In business as in real world, we spend a lot of time focusing on what’s different instead of what’s similar. Understanding the similarities, and how the business processes have already been optimized can really give a business a competitive advantage in using ERP systems. I believe that if you can’t measure it you can’t manage it. I use process and value stream mapping to visually depict how business is performed. Seeing the process visually really helps to highlight areas for standardization, improvement, and remove areas of waste. Using KPIs (key performance indicators) is another tool that I employ to drive the business process change in supply chain.
