My role was primarily based in the field (onshore and offshore Australia) where I was required to set-up and monitor equipment and real-time data, ensure permits were in place and attend the site safety meetings. I was also required to liaise with client representatives on-site and represent my company in a safe and professional manner. I have also assisted other departments when needed and worked with technical support to update and refine current documents and reports. These documents have since been implemented across the Australian firm.I have acquired many certifications and attended company training, both in Australia and overseas, with outstanding results.

Assigned to the Pressure Pumping division, I collaborated with a number of technical and managerial personnel in submitting service proposals and tenders to various clients. Over three months I created a systematized database of company information, compiled over the last three years, to improve the existing tender management system. This role has showcased my strengths in attention to detail, time management, working in a team and organisation skills which has lifted the overall quality of submissions and has been positively received by our clients.Other areas I have been exposed to include the workshop where I have assisted with testing, servicing and handling tools, the Cementing laboratory where I have assisted with testing slurries and the Upstream Chemicals laboratory where I have assisted with flocculation tests.

In conjunction with Curtin University I researched, presented information and made recommendations regarding on-site and remote control across Rio Tinto mine sites. I extracted data from process flow maps and generated an excel spreadsheet which summarized this information in a convenient and user-friendly format; later circulated to relevant personnel. Whilst completing the research and data extraction tasks I assisted the Business Improvement team where I was exposed to lean and six-sigma principles. I applied these principles to a ‘Continuous Improvement’ project designed to standardize the change management process used by Controllers across both mine and port operations.

Whilst based in Tom Price I completed three projects including; magnetic separator efficiency testing, screen adhesion sampling and moisture analysis. The results from the projects identified a potential for significant savings and were used as a basis for new graduates to continue the studies.
