- Prepare applications for changes to type designs per CAR 521.151, including forms, technical description of proposed changes, proposed certification basis, and certification plan- Work with a delegate(s) to classify design changes per CAR 521.152- Process minor changes to existing approval documents per CAR 521.154 and the DAO's DAPM- Develop and propose certification bases per CAR 521.155(c), and identify potential SCAs required- Write Certification Plans per CAR 521.155 and AC 500-015 outlining means, methods, documentation, resources, and schedule for compliance to each paragraph in the proposed certification basis- Determine the applicable Standards of Airworthiness per CAR 521.158, 521.159 and AC 500-016, complete a CPR assessment when appropriate, and document resulting amendment levels to each requirement in the certification plan- Negotiate acceptance of certification plans with TCCA- Determine and plan specific analyses required to demonstrate compliance, for example structural analysis or FEA for parts and assemblies, lightning/HIRF assessments, safety assessments (FHA, SSA per 25.1309), electrical analysis, DTA, etc- Determine specific tests required to demonstrate compliance, for example load tests, EMI/EMC, flight performance and characteristics, system performance, etc- Review compliance documentation (analyses and test results) completed by specialist engineers for accuracy, applicability, and regulatory compliance before submitting to Delegate Engineers or TCCA - Develop ICA requirements for changes to type designs per MSI-53, 2x.571, 2x.1309, 2x.1529, 2x.1729, AWM 525 Appendix H by using MSG-3 and RCM principles to determine AWL such as mandatory replacement times, inspection intervals, CMRs, CDCCLs, and write maintenance procedures and manual supplements - Participate in DAO activities such as audits, DAPM/EPM changes, ACC meetings- Coordinate flight authority documents- Coordinate internal and external certification deliverables

- Co-lead the Airworthiness Department (manage assignments, actions, issues, requests, inquiries, etc)- Provide guidance on certification requirements for current projects and open bids- Prepare and deliver presentations to TCCA and Cascade Leadership Team on certification activities- Monitor compliance to DAPM/EPM and identify deficiencies- Ensure timely and strategic delivery of compliance documentation- Support ACR in managing DAO activities such as DAPM/EPM changes, Delegate nominations, audits, ACC meetings- Review and update certification budgets and schedules

- Plan, assign, and review the work of aerospace structural engineers- Review and agree upon structural analysis methods for specific parts or assemblies with specialist engineers and Delegate(s)- Create, track progress, and report on project schedules for structural analysis- Manage and report on structural analysis budgets- Provide estimates for structural analysis in support of business development initiatives- Liaise with Transport Canada Civil Aviation regarding means and methods of compliance and demonstration of compliance to structures requirements outlined in the basis of certification

- Perform classical structural analysis on aircraft modifications- Participate in developing means and methods of compliance for structural requirements outlined in the basis of certification

- Perform classical structural analysis and simplified FEA for aircraft modifications using classical methods (Bruhn, Roark, etc) and Cosmos FEA software- Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis for aircraft modifications using S-N curves and crack propagation models in AFGROW, to determine replacement intervals or initial and repeat inspection intervals- Prepare Load and Stress Reports for submission to TCCA- Prepare Fatigue and DTA Reports for review and acceptance by TCCA- Prepare Maintenance Manual Supplements and ICAs for review and acceptance/approval by TCCA, including maintenance procedures and AWLs- Participate in preparing Flight Manual Supplements- Perform aircraft utilization analysis in support of continued airworthiness requirements
