Sheffield StudentMarket Directors are instrumental in the direction and running of the Sheffield Student Market enterprise. I have coordinated volunteers; organised the purchasing, financial, marketing and logistical aspects of the market to ensure the smooth running of this project.

Volunteers buy fresh produce from farmers and producers with a Sheffield postcode, and sell it to students. I was involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the market, and responsibilities include: setting up and taking down the market, and selling fresh local produce to students. I also had the opportunity to attend team meetings, at which the direction of future markets and the responsibilities of individual students are decided. In order to ensure the smooth running of the market, volunteers must be organised, punctual and good communicators.
