NQLC is an organisation appointed by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, to assist Aboriginal people with all aspects of their native title claims. Our lawyers represent native title holders and claimants in native title related proceedings including: native title claims, appearing in court on behalf of native title claimants, responding to ‘future act’ applications (for example, proposed mining on native title land or land subject to a registered native title claim), and negotiations for Indigenous Land Use Agreements.

As a Project Officer at James Cook University, I gained a wealth of experience in project management, research, and lecturing. I contributed to a groundbreaking study on social entrepreneurship in Far North Queensland, examining its role in addressing social needs. My work on the 'State of the Arts Report' provided vital economic insights into Cairns' cultural and creative industries. I excelled in preparing research publications, securing grants, and developing an innovative project assessment tool for the RDA FNQ & TS, predicting social and cultural impacts of development projects. Additionally, I collaborated with the Cairns Regional Council to map arts and recreational activities and spearheaded administration, events, and stakeholder engagement for the Social Enterprise Network for the Tropics. This diverse role sharpened my skills in research, lesson planning, and strategic engagement.

The Social Enterprise Stand Up Project (SESP) is dedicated to raising the profile of social enterprises as creators of social and economic value and strengthening the case for investment in sector development. My involvement in SESP included devising innovative methods to connect the diverse range of stakeholders in the social enterprise sector across Queensland, facilitating the development of a coherent, representative growth strategy for social enterprise and impact-led businesses. I also mapped Queensland's social enterprise ecosystem, built and sustained effective relationships with various stakeholders, planned and organised projects within deadlines, and reported on the achievements of results to the Board Members, all while adhering to a framework of accountability.

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between Council and the Queensland Government to support the development of quality art and arts practice in regional Queensland. Council's RADF Committee makes recommendations to Council and contributes to the on-going implementation of its RADF program. Membership of the RADF Committee is in a voluntary capacity. Members have a broad base of experience and/or expertise in arts and cultural practice.
