20+ years experience of handbag, accessories and soft goods product development: specializing in hands-on sustainable design, lean manufacturing, 5s, ethical sourcing, and domestic production. I enjoy the challenge of incorporating color and pattern into timeless, durable and unique handbag designs: upcycled textiles, vegan leather and recycled leather.In 2005, my designs were one of the first vegan handbags to be featured in a mainstream fashion magazine: InStyle. I sell my bags in over 40 stores nationwide and regularly participate in pop-ups and shopping events including Chelsea Market in New York and Pike Place Market in Seattle. I find great joy in being able to give back to my community. It is a privilege to serve as a guest speaker to students, grade-school through college, as well as offer mentorship to new entrepreneurs. This fresh energy provides and inspiration and context, which makes me driven to make a difference in todays fast-fashion world.In 2021, I was awarded two consecutive grants in Lean Manufacturing,Kanban boards and 5S.My team and I were trained on how to implement a JIT inventory management system which lead to significant improvements in efficiency, productivity, and cost savings for my small handbag manufacturing company.
