-Administer conscious sedation (Versed and Fentanyl) and monitor patient during GI procedures-Admit and prepare patients in pre-op for eye surgery and/or GI procedures-Manage Performance Improvement for Quality Council-Prepared for and participated in 2 JCAHO surveys-Review patients’ H&P, obtain vitals, and start IV-Monitor patients in PACU and discharge once stable -Assist MD with obtaining biopsies, removing colon polyps, and performing esophageal dilations-Assist with abdominal pressure and coach patient during procedures -Clean and sterilize endoscopes -Ensure procedure rooms are fully stocked -Ensure all equipment is working

-Assist with caring for high-risk antepartum, labor & delivery, and postpartum patients in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital-Ensure delivery rooms and operating rooms are fully stocked-Accurately record and enter hourly rounding results into Cerner -Setup delivery tables utilizing sterile technique -Insertion and removal of Foley catheters -Assist with various interventions to help patients through the second stage of labor -Schedule inductions and cesarean sections -Cross coverage into postpartum when needed -Assist with newborn assessment (weight, height, vitals, administration of erythromycin eye ointment and vitamin K injection)-Provide outstanding customer service to patients, family members, and visitors in accordance with the AIDET model

-Obtain vital signs, assist in minor procedures and studies (pH/manometry, capsule endoscopies, rectal exams) -Schedule appointments, insurance verification, chart preparation-Contact patients with benign results -Review pre-procedure preparation instructions with patients -Input data into EHR using Allscripts -Transcription (25-30 patients/day)
