About Csaba Dr. Varga
I’m among the exceptional lucky ones, whose hobby – in my case the aviation – could have been their job for many years. I was interested in the aviation very much and I enjoyed every minute of it. Subsequent upon for this among other things, I’ve progressively reached the top of my professional carrier and alongside it could evolve the style of my leadership and skill. During the last 12 years, the best of my time worked out the planning, organization, coordination of tasks and projects at upper level.Even though I worked at airports for several decades, still I consider my position at the Kabul International Airport (OAKB) to be the pinnacle of my career so far.At the same time, I was the manager of Kabul International Airport and the project manager of NATO's largest airport investment in Afghanistan. The project had to be carried out in such a way that the take-off and landing of the planes was ensured continuously. At OAKB in the project manager role, I lead a huge project which consist of ramp extension for fix wing and rotary wing aircrafts, passenger reception center, CARGO terminal, dining and sport facilities, staff buildings, wastewater treatment facility, gates with truck and passenger scanners, a brand new hospital with helipad, sidewalks and roads with public lighting, installation of a new airport meteorological station, construction of a new airport electrical network by cutting the taxiways in several places, construction of the electrical, telecommunication, cctv and IT network in the entire area.In my case during airport investments, there is no need to explain the importance of air safety and security, the relationship between the pavement classification number (PCN) and aircraft classification number (ACN), the boundaries of the ground side and the air side, that anything can cause foreign object damage (FOD). I am familiar with what the runway is for, what taxiways and helicopter landing sites are, the airports have ground-based navigation systems, lighting technology parallel with the runway and taxiways, intersections taxiways, special painted markings on the surface of the runway/taxiways. It is not unusual for me that the landing direction could be changed in minutes.
