My main career focus spanning 22 years includes assessment of human impacts on estuarine & marine environments. Research and teaching has been highly varied from coastal restoration, to water quality assessment, impacts on fish behaviour, & marine wildlife behaviour, distribution and population assessment in response to human activities. Focus over the last decade has been on applying advanced statistical methods to model heterogeneity in such systems, and improve outputs for management applications. Contract & research involve assessing impacts for industry, reviewing assessments as an expert for government, and engaging community in marine fauna conservation & management. Current focus includes experimental design, statistical modelling, bioacoustics, EIA, marine wildlife research and conservation, and producing media content to communicate and inspire ocean conservation and sustainable practices.
